FLY NOW, GRIEVE LATER
A study published in June 2005 by Brendon Sewill, Chairman of GACC  uses academic research to show that of all the things that ordinary people do, flying has the biggest impact on climate change; that aviation is set to become the world’s most polluting industry; and that the rapid growth in air travel is largely due to its worldwide tax-free status. The external costs of air travel – which the government agrees should be paid by the industry – are much higher than previously estimated. Published by the Aviation Environment Federation. THE HIDDEN COST OF FLYING
Why aviation should pay fuel tax and VAT. DfT computer results showing that if it did so, no new runways would be needed in UK. By GACC Chairman Brendon Sewill.
