The New Aviation Policy
GACC has made a significant contribution to the formulation of the Government's new aviation policy. A draft white paper is to be published in March 2012, and the Secretary of State for Transport has asked for views on what should be in it, saying that the aviation industry needs to reduce its environmental impact. A Scoping Document was published in March 2011.
When a delegation from GACC met the Minister for Aviation, Theresa Villiers, in April she told us that the Department for Transport (DfT) wish to hear a strong view from environmental groups, and that they are looking for ‘evidence-based responses’. GACC has therefore submitted a full response backed up by 11 ‘GACC Evidence Papers’.
with a check list of 47 policies we wish to see in the new white paper. ______________________________ |
